However, her revelation about the bakery responsible sparked backlash. Goldberg claimed a Staten Island bakery refused her order, hinting at political bias.

Bakery Fires Back: “It Was the Boiler, Not Politics”

The unnamed bakery was quickly identified as Holtermann’s Bakery, a 146-year-old Staten Island institution. According to owner Jill Holtermann, the bakery had to decline Goldberg’s pre-order due to an aging boiler disrupting operations. Despite this, a staff member from The View managed to purchase the desserts in person just days later.

Officials and Community Rally Behind the Bakery

Local politicians, including Staten Island Borough President Vito Fossella and City Councillor David Carr, defended the bakery, demanding an apology from Goldberg. At a press conference, they emphasized the bakery’s explanation and dismissed claims of political bias. Community members also showed their support, rallying behind Holtermann’s longstanding reputation.
